Replacing Toolbar with Dashboard
I’ve always liked the dashboard approach. Visually it’s awesome and it works well for apps like Venmo. The argument against it is discoverability / burial of features. If you spend most time on Schedule, you may forget about Places or Social. I suppose it’s why Twitter went back...

I’m evaluating Foursquare for Android as part of a subject on Usability Engineering. We first need to identify the goals of the company which include, presumably, to:
facilitate location-based information sharing
build a community; and
guide interaction between users and brands
A genuine service, a critical mass, and a monetisation mechanism.

Foursquare Stats Widget (Update)
One of the great things about open source projects is that people are willing to help out when they see you’ve been making an effort. Logan took the initiative to work on the integration with the main application, so the Foursquare Stats Widget should be on the Market soon!

Screen Sizes for Foursquare Stats Widget
There’s a layer of complexity in supporting multiple screen resolutions when using pre-scaled Drawable resources. It gets even harder when you consider both Portrait and Landscape since the pixel density swaps around.
